Clicking sound every time using extermal mouse or touchpad

SatelliteP770-PSBY3U-03L01Q As mentioned above, there is a loud(depending on speaker vol) clicking sound whenever the mouse or touchpad button is pushed that causes the computer to perform an operation. This is very annoying as it does it all the time, if the sound is on. Makes listening to music, playing games, and just working with the computer a pain in the —-. The noise sounds like relays opening/closing!!

ANY IDEAS other than not using the sound??
