Hibernating problem

My toshiba satilite c655 keeps starting a system repair after hibernating.

Every time I do a shut down I dont have the problem but for some reason the computer shuts off while hibernating and when I turn it back on it says its looking for a way to fix the problem and it starts a system repair but it wont let me cancel or do anything else.

It says that it should only take several minutes but it goes on for hours until I just hold the power button and shut it off. Then when  I restart it goes on fine with no alerts or anything. The problem only occurs when I put it in hibernate. Just wanted to know if anyone knows if its bad for the computer and why it does this? or should I just not hibernate anymore?
