Its income derives from each page one appearance. The optimisation professional needs to preserve that level without being involved in a fight with rivals for the same keywords. While his client is seeing success, so is the optimisation professional, and both benefit.

Attaining a page one positioning is important for a company, but it is equally important to maintain the page one search engine positioning. The page one positioning alone is no guarantee of more traffic, but the chances of more traffic must be higher if the page one positioning is maintained. A Limited Ability In Using Computer Technology Doesn’t Do Anyone Any Favours And It Won’t Be Smart To Be Left Behind

Some years ago, I was unemployed and wondering what to do with myself when I saw an advert and hatched a cunning scheme. In the best case scenario I wanted to go for Online Jobs as I had had my own Internet Business with which I’d opened a record shop on eBay, but this hadn’t gone well and I would have liked to continue to Work From Home. An internet bank was expanding into an office nearby and was looking for people to fill vacancies as call centre associates to assist customers with their credit card queries. It wasn’t a job I wanted to do, I’d done something similar 20 or so years before, but what I was looking to do was get my feet under the table and then attempt and get a transfer to the ICT division which was also located at the same building.

I’d been working in IT since 1990 and had by definition trained in the disciplines required for working in that environment at the time and had mostly run out of time where jobs for most of the old disciplines were much rarer and the technology had marched on and I didn’t understand most of it. Hence my cunning scheme, because the bank did most business primarily on the internet and that was the technology I wanted to re-train into.

In the meantime though, I joined the call centre training programme along with a dozen others, most of whom were much younger than me. This was something I was very satisfied about as it gave me an occasion to re-learn about the culture of the age bracket below me, something that has always inspiredstunned me, which was how little they thought that they were comfortable with using technology from the pushchair and this just wasn’t true. It really was a revelation and I found myself having in many cases to explain to people how to find things, change their settings and requiring.

I couldn’t help querying what they were learning at school as I was led to believe that computer and IT skills were a large part of the modern education curriculum and that the education institutions spent a lot of money on equipment. Perhaps I was mislead.

They are going to have to start though, because more companies
are going to examine available technologies as a way of moving employees out of centralised offices and changing to Work From Home and requiring them to do Online Jobs remotely. Although thorough technical abilities won’t be required as the software and equipment are not difficult to use, but only as long as the user has at least a minimum standard of competence. They might be working for an Internet Business but that doesn’t mean that they are designing websites and databases, but they will need to be able to get around online, fill in spreadsheets and communicate effectively using email and other methods of instant communication.

It is a concern because I know from my period in IT around the world, that many countries require their children to be tech savvy from an early age in more than just mobile phone communications. Possibly the time has come for the techies to start pointing at the cool kids and sneering at them for their lack of interest in technology and give that technology and the know-how to use it, some desirability.

Is Work Simply Turning Full Cycle In The Western World? More And More Employees Are No Longer Trekking Back And Forth And Opting To Work From Home.

The 1800’s modified education and the workplace on a massive scale. Compulsory education meant more children required to be taught. There was no practical way to rapidly boost teaching staff, so children were grouped into classes and classes were located in schools. I like to think that mandatory education was wholly an altruistic alteration in society, but conceivably it also acclimatized our children to large buildings with many people in them. About the same time the Industrial revolution started, and the schools supplied a pool of educated young adults for the factories and the heavy industries. So the factories now hired people who used to Work From Home, and so it has been in Western Europe and North America until the late 1970’s.

Over the years, western salaries have increased to the extent that even inexperienced factory workers have had a lifestyle far above the rest of the world. It couldn’t keep on this way, and over the last 40 years the western world has divested heavy industries like coal and steel, textiles and electronics to low cost locations. The UK has virtually no large manufacturing industries left.

So when you think about it, the “Work From Home“ resurrection has coincided with a lot of large industrial corporations moving their operations to low cost countries. Countries like the USA, the UK etc have less need for staff to be co-located in a factory to sustain a manufacturing process. Accompanying this is the rise in knowledge based service industries, and the massive increase in Internet Business. In many ways we are reverting back to smaller businesses, many of which are one man ventures, suitable for people who want to Work From Home.

But in place of small potters or bakers trading to the local community, many of these new endeavours utilize the World Wide Web. They also utilize people ejected from Online Jobs previously located in factories or offices. It is as if we have come full cycle in the West and dispensed with the industrial machine. In effect the biggest concerns are now Central and Local Government and the Health Service. But even the public services have come around to the possibility of reducing expenditure by relocating many of their Online Jobs out of the office and into the home.

Still if a new Internet Business is for example merely acting as a low cost distributor, then the value add may be adequate to feed a family, but it is not going to be a major contributor in the world of commerce. Equally offloading Online Jobs to personnel who can Work From Homelooks a bit forlorn and is this really just symptom of what is happening in the West. Yes, consumer goods produced in China do cost less, but back at home salaries are decreasing. Perhaps we have parity on our standard of living just now, but it is difficult to see how a knowledge-based Internet Business or an online consultancy can equal the wealth creation of a car industry or a major consumer goods company.

The idea of us reverting back to a world earlier than the industrial revolution is fairly thought provoking. What I do know is, that that as soon as the skills have gone from an industry, it requires generations to get back to where we used to be. So we might be dependent on our knowledge based industries for many years!

A Remembrance Of A Period Lost The Lifecycle Of A Ventrure Destined To Fall On The Sword Of Corporate Politics.

The opportunity to Work From Home is a great advantage for someone who is blessed enough to have the opportunity to do it. Many, like myself are able to do so because we do Online Jobs by being employed by an Internet Business and so have no need to be at in any one place. There are many things we can do that our office bound colleagues are denied such as watching the World Cup football when the afternoon games are on, doing the school run in both directions, not having to be concerned with travelling conditions or the weather first thing in the morning.

Obviously I didn’t always Work From Home. Most of of my career so far has been mostly office based rather than Online Jobs and I’m blessed that I have been part of 4 large IT development projects in that period, and it’s pretty much true that there will not because the development software that we used to develop the systems is mostly finished in Britain, though still popular in some parts of Northern Europe and Australia.

The first of these was when I was working for a large energy utility in Dorking, Surrey. The plan was to match up two regional areas from the London and South East areas who each had a requirement to change existing but very rickety IBM based computer systems. The toolset called the Information Engineering Facility (IEF) was designed to produce fast, accurate and reliable systems across a complete firm and so was the best, if expensive option and a brand new office building was opened to house the complete project team in one office. We had a forward looking can-do attitude and great amity. It was my first real job in IT and I loved it.

However, the work that we were doing made the other regional companies within the utility company worried and look at themselves and their requirements and many felt threatened by what could happen when our systems were done and installed. Would they be made to have them as well or would the systems be centralised for the whole firm? It was decided to examine the computing needs for all regions and a study was commissioned which concluded that the future was best served using an ICL mainframe platform and as soon as that was made we were finished. It was a conclusion based wholly on the corporate politics of people who worried that they were going to be squeezed out and got their retaliation in first, and not a lot to do with the quality of systems to run the firm in the longer term.

What happened following that was that it was decided that systems from the West Midlands, an ICL region would be used for all regions and the future computing would be run from Solihull for the whole firm. Some people opted to remain with the firm and took the plunge to relocate to the Midlands while many more, tempting redundancy packages for people to go away.

At that time there was no such thing as an Internet Business. In fact, although it existed in a very basic form, very few knew anything about the internet at all. It was just beginning to become available and I used a bit of my redundancy payout to buy a new pc anyway and it came with a modem and disks to connect to an internet service provider, but it was so basic then that you didn’t even get a name in your email address – not that there were that many people to email anyway.

But it was possible to see which way things were going, and undoubtedly for the best for me. The job I had left was mostly working on mainframe based systems, and I would go on to do so for years ahead, but the platform of choice was always going to be internet based once the technology allowed.

If, like me, you have noticed a growing number of references in the past 10 years or so to the topic of enabling staff to Work From Home, then you might be surprised to learn that the percentage of staff who do so all of the time has been static since 2002. It is, and has long been, a worker’s right to resign from their employment subject to the appropriate contractual procedures being adhered to. A recent survey showed the rates of staff turnover for UK businesses in 2008 and it has produced some interesting points for discussion.

The general rate of staff turnover in the UK in 2008 was 15.7%. The figure is measured as the number of employees who left a firm during the year as a percentage of the total workforce number during the year. So, if a firm had an average workforce of 100 throughout 2008, then it may have anticipated, on average, around fifteen people to have left the firm during the year. This might seem quite a high percentage but 2008 was a time of recession and the data is influenced by redundancies and reductions in workforce sizes. Redundancies obviously add to the numbers of employees leaving but when they and other leavers are not replaced then the average workforce size is less and this raises the percentage figure obtained from the formula outlined above. The effect of these two issues on the overall statistics becomes clear when one looks further into the survey results – twenty six per cent of businesses in the UK made 10 or more employees redundant in 2008 and 30% applied a block on recruitment.

The impact of employees resigning] varies according to the availability of good quality replacements in the local area and the survey supports this point by demonstrating that turnover rates are highest where unemployment is low and it is not so hard for employees to find alternative employment. The value of the employees who leave is obviously an important issue, particularly if they move to a direct competitor or if they were in customer contact or Online Jobs and have proved to be particularly popular with clients. On the other hand, the business can benefit if a poorly performing person chooses to leave and is replaced by someone who can bring increased Internet Business from the role.

The Good Sides And Bad Sides Of Deciding To Buy Into An Evolving Market Very Early

We often hear of individuals who make their money by investing in newly evolving markets, spotting just the right opportunities to decide to get involved with and wonder whether we could maybe do something similar. We see lots of Internet Business enterprises right now and wonder whether we should invest. Their guideline is probably not to invest more than they are comfortable to lose in any given project, but in the early days not many of us have funds to lose, so how do we make judgements?

Then again, perhaps we could see long-term good in remaining an investor in the company and have a say long-term in its running. We have to trust them fully and over time increase that trust between us.

I think that we could all pick out these chances if we are careful where we pick our investments. Make sure we check up on any potential investment thoroughly. We should check and double check everything we are shown – if the company is genuine they will be happy we are taking them so seriously, they need to trust us too. If everything is good, then there is less risk involved and hopefully we have spotted a good opportunity to become the new entrepreneurs.

Those Niggling Illnesses Which Keep You From The Office Are Not An Issue For Those Who Work From Their House

Think of the times you have got out of bed, into the bath and out into the cold, in order to turn up at the office, feeling under the weather, dosed up with medicine. Perhaps it is influenza, doing its rounds of the building, a stomach bug, a really bad cold, whatever, you feel poorly, but do not feel you are ill enough to warrant staying at home. It is, after all, just a cold or stomach bug!

When you do make it into the office, your colleagues are not pleased to see you, sure that they will fall victim to your bugs and be ill themselves. They wish you had remained at home, and this is the quandary for those who work in an office – should you go to work, or stop at home when you are not well?

If you Work From Home, you do not have this issue. If you are feeling ill, you can still continue with your work, without the need to venture from the house, reducing the bother. Running an Internet Business, as I do, all those Online Jobs can be done by use of a pc and internet connection, without fear of infecting anybody else. Having a cold, flu or stomach bug affects only yourself. A box of tissues and plenty of cold remedies throughout the day, and the jobs can still be carried out. Stomach bugs can be dealt with in a similar trend.

By the very fact of being able to Work From Home, I am not in contact with as many folk, so in fact the likelihood of me catching a cold or stomach bug is greatly reduced. Passing germs on to other co-workers just does not happen when you are working at home.

If I feel really unwell for part of the day, I can take a break for a while, but as soon as I feel a little better, I can return to the Online Jobs which are building up. The actual disruption to my day through ill health is not huge. Occasions when I feel too unwell to work at all are practically non-existent, and would be days when, if I worked in an office, I would not be well enough to attend work also.

The Internet Business is very accommodating in this way. Because of the very type of the work involved, choosing to start work early in the day and finish early, or start late and finish late, or indeed take a break in the middle of the day are all perfectly acceptable modes of work. Also, to take one day off can soon be accommodated by working longer hours other days, or even doing a few hours over the weekend, so losing time to ill health during the week can be swallowed up by working other hours.

This would in all likelihood not be the case if you worked in an office. You would in all probability, if you were off work, have to complete a sick note and take the time off as sickness. Any jobs which were building up during your illness would be waiting for you on your return, which is why those who work in an office tend to try and minimise time off work due to illness.

Outsourcing Work – Misunderstandings Explained

Negative views on outsourcing originate wholly in down to the misunderstanding of the word outsourcing, and not thanks to the worldwide access of the internet. Since the word outsourcing so regularly evokes images of that offshore practice, it’s nearly most unlikely for public perception to escape it and that the growing practice of outsourcing jobs online is a hard thing for many people to swallow. When outsourcing jobs overseas, via the Net or otherwise, there are typically repeated issues with language and general communication that arise. By keeping things local these types of issues are minimized. Naturally, the pay demands of the local third party workers are going to reflect that and other things,such as cost of getting by.

There are still reasons for society to be worried with the idea of web outsourcing even if it’s kept within the borders. These include things like business being able to hire outside of unions, getting away without paying benefits and other such things. So while it’s not as dangerous as shipping the jobs overseas, society shouldn’t necessarily be in love with the concept.
